Using elements of nature and civilization, I make sculpture that reflects my perceptions of the psychological dynamics within our society, and within myself. These reflections result in the creation of familiar imagery in often-unfamiliar combinations. Much of my sculpture is figurative, and considers the narrative potential of how the physical body might wear its emotional experiences.
At the surface, our human form reflects a mere glimpse of the inner journey of mind and spirit that defines us as human. I like to imagine what it would be like if elements from this journey manifested themselves on the surface of the body in tangible form.Cynthia Siegel
